No school Monday, January 15 in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr., birthday holiday.

We want to take a moment to express my appreciation to each one of you for your patience and assistance in making our recent E-Learning Day a success.
Your commitment to your child's education, coupled with the flexibility and understanding you demonstrated during the transition to online learning, has played a pivotal role in creating a positive and enriching experience for everyone involved. We understand that adapting to new circumstances can be challenging, and we truly appreciate the collaborative effort between our school and the wonderful Wesmere community.
As we move forward, please know that your feedback is invaluable to us. If there are any insights or suggestions you'd like to share to enhance future virtual learning experiences, we welcome your input.

It is with regret that we inform you that the Wesmere Multicultural Fair, originally scheduled for March 25th, will no longer be taking place. Despite our efforts, we did not receive any families willing to host a booth, and we share in the disappointment of our staff.
While this event won't be happening as planned, we remain committed to creating opportunities for cultural celebration in the future.

Starting January 15th, Plainfield School District will launch its new website platform. Going forward, the Wesmere administration will primarily use the website for all communication, except for information requiring immediate attention.
The new website will feature:
- A calendar updated with essential dates for the remaining school year, with new dates added as necessary.
- News posts containing general updates, previously communicated in our weekly update, organized by topic.
- A live feed connected to our Facebook page, sharing the Wesmere experience.
- A "School Newsletter" button, leading to an ongoing Google Doc housing all news updates in one place.
This new communication approach, in collaboration with our PTO, aims to create a one-stop shop for information. The introduction of an app is a particularly exciting aspect.
Please take a few minutes to watch the video below to learn more about the app. If you download the app and set Wesmere as one of your schools, you'll receive notifications on your phone when the website is updated (if you choose that setting).

As we navigate through our E-Learning day, let's celebrate the unique experiences our kids are having at home. Share a picture of your little ones engaged in their E-Learning adventures! Whether it's a creative workspace, a science experiment, or a funny moment, let's create a virtual album of our E-Learning journey.

As we move into the winter months, students will continue to go outdoors for recess so long as the temperature is 20 degrees or above with the wind chill. Please send your child to school with clothing and outerwear to keep them warm. Students will not be permitted to stay indoors during recess without a doctor’s note.
Once the snow is on the ground, students will need the following to play in the snow: a coat, hat, gloves, snow pants and boots
Students without the Magic 5 will remain on the blacktop outdoors.
